Link

We have decided that Miles is one of the funniest kids ever. And the most stubborn, but we'll talk about that later, I'm sure. Miles has decided that he is not infact Miles, but Link, the main character in the Nintendo video game Zelda. He was introduced to the world of Zelda when we were in Utah a couple weeks ago. So, whenever you call him Miles, he says, "I'm Link." His uncles are very proud of this. Miles has also decided that his socks are "Link socks," and will not let you take them off. Luckily any pair of socks will qualify as Link socks, so he hasn't been wearing the same pair for the last week.
I have also realized that I have to be very careful of the phrases I use around Miles. The other day, when I made him unhappy, he said I needed a timeout. He also later told me that "I was driving him nuts." The other day, I left the kids with Jordan so I could go get dinner, but I did not tell Miles that I was leaving. When I arrived home, he glared at me and said, "Never run away from me again!"
Parenting sure has it's ups and downs, but I am glad that we have moments like this to make it a little easier.

Blog Numero uno

Several of our friends have blogs, so we decided to try one too. I'm not sure how well we will do writing every day, but we'll give it a shot. I(Elaine) am really bad at writing in my personal journal, and writing down funny things that my kids do, so this might be a good thing! I was going to write more tonight, but Vance is letting me know that it is time to go bed(thank goodness. It's been a long day.).
