Fishy Behavior

I know that you are all on pins and needles waiting to hear the latest news about our fish family, the Giller's. Well, here it is. We have baby fish! Someone(or some fish) in the tank has reproduced. I'm not sure how many baby fish there are, and they are getting harder and harder to find. We think they are being eaten. Poor little things. Great Sharky Shark has been hunting for them all day long. He was become more aggressive with the other fish too. Just trying to protect his meal. We'll see if any of them survive.

Dancing with the Old Timers

Our friend Kent is a drummer in a band, and we had never heard them play. So, we decided to check them out on Friday night. They were playing at some place called the Eagle's Club. I didn't realize what the Eagle' s club was until we got there. It's like the Lion's Club, or a VFW club. It was a bunch of really old people! Out to have a good time. They were all out on the dance floor, with Kent's band playing. They played a bunch of songs that we did not recognize, probably from the 40's and 50's. The older citizen's actually had some pretty good moves! It was fun to watch them dance, and some of them were so cute, holding each other like they were teenagers, sneaking a kiss every once in a while. They were very sweet.
After a little bit of nagging from an older gentleman, Jordan and I took a spin on the dance floor. No, wait, that makes it sound like we are good at dancing! This was only the second time we have danced in public the whole seven years we have been married. And there is a good reason for that!! Anyways, it ended up being a really fun evening. Maybe we will learn a few dance moves so we can go back and give the octogenarians some competition! Yeah, right.

Mason's Temple Day

On Saturday, the primary went to the temple in Detroit. Jordan and I were not able to go, so he had to go all the way down there without us(the Detroit temple is about a little more than an hour away.) He was so excited to go, and I thought he looked so nice.

When the primary arrived at the temple, they were able to go into the waiting area, where the temple president spoke to them for a couple minutes. Then they went to the church next to the temple and had lunch and did some activities.

It was 4:30 by the time he got home, (he left at 10 in the morning)and I was very happy to see him. That was a long time for him to be away from his mother! When I asked him if he had fun, he said his favorite part of the day was watching Superman on the way to Detroit, and running around the gym at the church next to the temple.

I really appreciate the primary leaders for doing this for the kids. It must have been a long day!

What was he thinking????

Vance likes to sit in front of the fridge and play with the letter magnets. It's nice to have something that can occupy him for five minutes. The other day, he was doing this, and when he was done, I found the following word spelled out on the floor!(See picture)
Vance is growing up so fast. He is now eight months old. He doesn't crawl, he does this funny scooting thing, so he gets to where he wants to go. He is very good at spotting the smallest crumb on the floor and putting it in his mouth. I am very impressed with his ability to pick up such small items! But, unfortunately for me, this means I have to vacuum frequently, and I HATE to vacuum! Maybe we should have kept the dog.(That was a joke, Jordan.) No dog right now. Just fish.

I finally got sick of having long hair, and had it cut off. About 10 to 12 inches I think. I had enough to donate to Locks of Love, which I was excited about. And, I got a free haircut!

Easter Weekend Update

Friday night, I went on a much needed girls' night out. We just went out to eat, and stayed at the restaurant for three and a half hours. It was great. Jordan, on the other hand, had kind of a crappy evening. His work called and informed him that someone was trapped in an elevator downtown, so he had to find a babysitter for the boys so he could save they day and rescue the trapped elevator patrons. (By the way Jordan, thank you for finding a babysitter and not calling me and asking me to come home.) Then, after Jordan got home, he wanted to make nachos, but there were no nacho chips(sorry, dear)then, both the Utah Jazz and the Detroit tigers lost their games.

Saturday, the bishop invited us to his house for an Easter egg hunt. It was supposed to be outside, but winter has made a nasty return to Michigan. Just last week, it was nice and warm, and I even turned on the central air for a while. Now it is freezing and occasionally snowy. The boys and I have taken to chanting, "NO MORE SNOW! NO MORE SNOW!" All we need is picket signs. Anyway, back to the Easter egg hunt. Bishop Robinson and his wife Lisa had yarn strung all over the house. Each child had one long piece of yarn that they had to follow. Eggs and various prizes were attached to the yarn. The yarn ran all over the house, and you had to climb over and under all the other yarn, and it was a blast! We really appreciate that they invited us.

Sunday, Jordan's morning meetings were canceled, and it was nice to have him home for a while on Sunday morning. Mason gave a talk in primary, and he did a very good job. I went to Relief Society for the first time in four and a half years. That was nice.

After Jordan got home from church(he always gets home later than the boys and I)we had the boys find their Easter baskets. (Sorry Mom, I did not take any pictures of this because my house is a mess.) The Easter Bunny gave Mason and Miles frisbees, and when they saw them, they both said, "Plates!!" Miles is still convinced it is a plate, and when Mason tries to correct him, they get in a huge fight about whether it is a plate, or a frisbee. It is driving me crazy!!!

We went to Jordan's parents house for dinner, and had another indoor Easter egg hunt. They boys really enjoyed that too. They were so excited every time they found an egg.

Now Mason has to go back to school after spring break, and I have to clean the gigantic mess that has accumulated in my house. Maybe I'll even fold the laundry that has been sitting in my living room for five days!

My Beautiful Flowers

Today, these beautiful flowers from Jordan were delivered to my door. I was so happy that I danced around the house for about five minutes!! It was such a great surprise. What a wonderful husband I have!

And now my house smells nice too.
