Guess what's making a triumphant return!

Most of you probably remember that Vance used to have the cutest curls.  I'll be the first to admit that they were a little on the wild side, but I loved them all the same.  And I was not alone.  But twice, my dear husband shaved off all of the curls.  The first time he did it I was so mad that I cried!!  I had gone to a movie, and he had done the evil deed while I was gone.  There were also many ladies at church that were mad a Jordan too!

Vance's curls before the 1st haircut(you can see his hair better if you click on the picture)

Luckily, the curls grew back, and were as cute as ever.  But, Jordan struck again on Vance's 2nd birthday and again shaved off the beloved curls.

Before
After

After that haircut, his hair lost all volume and curl, and grew in really straight and thin.
A couple months ago, I took him in for a real haircut.  And look what's happening now!  The wave and curl of the past are returning!  I am so happy.  I just love his hair like this.

Lake Lansing

Last week, the boys and I went to Lake Lansing with some friends in the ward.  It was our first time going to that beach, and we really enjoyed it!  I hope we can be frequent visitors there over the course of the summer.

Vance refused to go anywhere near the water for a while.  He wouldn't even let me put on his bathing suit.  He changed his mind eventually.  He had a great time in the water.
Vance decided that he liked the lady in the bikini much more than he liked me.  He kept going over to visit her, hold her hand,  just hang out with her and her kids.  He wouldn't leave her alone!  She didn't seem to mind though.  And I was right there keeping an eye on him.  Jordan and I now refer to this stranger as Vance's "beach mama."

Bellevue Car Show

Last Saturday, the family headed to Bellevue, Michigan to their annual car show.  Here are some pictures from the day.

Independence Day

We had a very nice 4th of July.   This year, like we do most years, Jordan's mom organized a wonderful get-together for family and friends.  We met at Jordan's parents house for a yummy rib dinner.  And we had THE best hot fudge sundae's.  After dinner, we went to the Lugnut's baseball game in downtown Lansing.  The boys were very good, and we all ended up having a very good night.

 Have some popcorn Vance!
A funny shot of Miles. This picture is hilarious if you look at it full size. It looks like his finger is coming out of the screen!
Mason won this baseball in the group raffle.  He was so excited!
Me and my cute husband
I could tell when we first got to the game that Vance was tired.  By the eight inning, he was OUT, and drooling all over Jordan's arm.  He didn't wake up until the fireworks started, and they did not make him very happy!

Musical Performances from Vance

I didn't teach him this song.  He must have learned it in nursery.

I caught him singing at a podium, with a "song book" and a mircophone.  What a funny boy!

If you listen carefully, you might hear the tune of the primary song "Did Jesus Really Live Again."

Castaway Cafe

If you're looking for something fun for the kids to do in Michigan, I suggest the Castaway Cafe down in Howell.  It's like a mega-sized McDonald's playland.  My boys loved it!  I'm sure we'll be making more trips there.
