Alterbridge!!

Every July, Lansing has a week long music festival called Common Ground. I had never been before this year. This year I found out that one of my favorite bands, Alterbridge, was going to be there, so I had to go! Most people haven't heard of Alterbridge. Do you remember the group Creed? Alterbridge is most of the members of Creed with a new lead singer, Myles Kennedy. He can really wail(Wayne's World reference). Their lead guitarist, Mark Tremonti, is amazing.

My friend Melissa came along with me. We had such a good time!

The first group that we saw was called Fiction Plane(from the UK, they had to remind us every five minutes.) They were okay, but they dropped the f-bomb alot, with drives me nuts. Their claim to fame is that their lead singer is Stings son. Click on the picture. Can you see the resemblance?

Me in front of the stage when Alterbridge came out.

Alterbridge was great, but I feel bad because they had a bad crowd. Most of the people who were there were there to see Snoop Dog, who was the following act. I guess fights kept breaking out in the crowd, (thank goodness not in our little area) and the lead singer had to actually start and stop a song to tell people to stop fighting. Nice. There were some interesting people in the audience. My hope in humanity is shot!

I took several videos, but none of them turned out to well, because we were too close to the stage, and the music was too loud. I'm shocked I can hear okay today. This really short clip was the best I could get. Why I only shot this video for six seconds, I don't know.

Well...you are looking quite hot in that picture my friend. You're getting too cute Elaine. You must stop that....you're showing the rest of us up.

Glad to see a fellow lady concert goer out there. We must go together sometime! I'll have to check out this Alterbridge. How the heck did you hear these guys anyway?

Very cool...I also had no idea you were an Alterbridge fan, but after learning about your shoe fetish, it makes sense! :) Common Ground is way fun, huh? Maybe we can all go together in about 20 years when Miles and Amber are married, that is, if we can stand all the rowdies who show up for events like that (the concerts, not the wedding). I'm glad you had fun!
